Gather the payroll facts
Collect the pay date, the period covered, hours or salary, the employee's W-4 filing status, and any benefit deductions. Use the figures you actually paid.
Enter employer and employee
Company name and address, EIN if you have one, the employee's name, address and the last four digits of their SSN.
Enter pay
Choose hourly or salary, the pay frequency and the pay date. Add overtime hours and any bonus for the period.
Review withholding
PaystubLine estimates federal, Social Security, Medicare and state tax. If your payroll records show different amounts, use your records.
Run the accuracy check
Fix anything flagged: pay under minimum wage, missing overtime or net pay that is zero or below.
Download and keep a copy
Give the employee their stub and keep a copy. The IRS expects employers to keep employment tax records for at least four years.
